The ship was returning from a NATO drill and collided with a Greek oil tanker. The latter one wasn't damaged but the frigate whose cost is estimated at $650 million has got a breach below the water line and began sinking.
The crew was forced to evacuate. The media report that the frigate’s crew is responsible for the collision. First, they turned off its navigation system and then, failed to notice the tanker in its way.
