Absolute Treason! Ukrainian Woman Charged For Commemorating Liberation of Kiev 75 Years Ago

On Tuesday, memorable events were held in Kiev on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the capital of Ukraine from the German fascist invaders by the Red Army.

On Tuesday, memorable events were held in Kiev on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the capital of Ukraine from the German fascist invaders by the Red Army. The most notable part was the storming of Elena Berezhnaya's apartment.

An SBU assault team equipped with an angle grinder broke in. Elena Berezhnaya isn't a terrorist and doesn't pose any public danger. She's never been convicted, doesn't own any firearms, and pays her rent. She's an intelligent person. She is the head of the Institute for Legal Policy and Social Protection. Elena Berezhnaya’s fault lies in the fact that she organized the rally at the monument to General Vatutin, the liberator of Kiev, on the occasion of the anniversary of the expulsion of Hitler's troops from the city. For this, Berezhnaya was charged with attempting to overthrow the state, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and with treason, Article 111.

In the framework of this case, exactly on the anniversary day, the Security Service of Ukraine came to search her. When Elena Berezhnaya asked to wait for her lawyer to arrive, the SBU group bravely stormed the apartment of the single woman.

The quiet rally did take place. Veterans laid flowers to General Vatutin. It's obvious that the people didn't feel comfortable. A provocation by reckless nationalists could have happened at any moment. After all, the atmosphere in the country is still set by the regime, which came to power through fraudulent, undemocratic means during a bloody coup d'etat.

If only the people who gathered five years ago at the so-called Euromaidan had known they would merely be used and it would end up to the way it is, the Euromaidan would never have happened. If only they'd known that the country would fall apart, that industry would collapse, that a civil war would break out in the east, that corruption would flourish even more, and that the new government would build up huge debts which it hardly could pay. If they'd known that Poroshenko had financed the clamor, would become president, and would make money on war by evading taxes using offshore companies, Ukraine would hate Poroshenko, and Euromaidan never would have happened.

This, so to say, president, despicable in his own country and abroad, with an approval rating of only 10%, puts chestnuts in the fire several months before the end of his term which future generations will have to pull out. I mean the church schism in Ukraine. He declared tens of millions of his citizens to be representatives of a foreign state — Russia. He then told them to leave Ukraine. He said this to the hierarchs: “My dear, this is no place for you. This is no place for your church. Go home, to Russia.” But he expels the pastors of the absolute majority of the population of Ukraine. How would that go, exactly? The canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church is independent of Moscow in both financial and staff terms. This is a well-established religious and social institution, recognized throughout the world. And here is a petty person who is pretty far-removed from Orthodoxy. Not long ago, he used the word "Orthodoxy" as a kind of swear word. Here's footage dated February 20th, 2014, from a break room in the Verkhovnaya Rada. This is him talking to Vadym Novynskyi, known for being very religious: “You blame me! You have no fear of God, you Orthodox bitch! You're blaming me that 70 got killed!” It was hysterical, shrill, cowardly.

Honestly, I feel sorry for Poroshenko. We met in Kiev before the Orange Revolution; it was more than 15 years ago. He was a deputy from Viktor Yushchenko's Our Ukraine and he was a businessman as well, like all Ukrainian politicians. I organized the "Skovoroda" discussion club in Kiev, named after Russian and Ukrainian philosopher Gregory Skovoroda who lived in the 18th century. As a playful prop, I obtained a huge paellera which I used to entertain my guests before our meetings. Here's Poroshenko helping himself. Then Poroshenko didn't have a certain lifeline, a basis of a kind. After Yushchenko, he managed to work as a minister with Yanukovych, then he rushed back. He unprincipledly entered into situational alliances for the sake of being close to power, because power is the only source of personal gain in Ukraine. In February 2014, for the sake of power, Poroshenko committed a crime. He has blood on his hands. This is what Vadim Novinsky I told him back then. But he replied with: “You blame me! You have no fear of God, you Orthodox bitch! You're blaming me that 70 got killed!” Poroshenko covered up the lie with a showy fit of hysteria. He has blood on his hands. Novinskiy was right.

Now the country is devastated and hopeless. No one knows what Poroshenko has on his mind. His sincerity is a game. His Euro-smile is fake. He hits the bottle despite his diabetes. Now he needs his own church which will turn a blind eye to all of this.
