Meanwhile, the share of new equipment in strategic missile forces will reach 72% this year. Vladimir Putin said today during a meeting with the military and heads of the defense industry. The core of the RVSN will be the Yars system, the same one that most recently participated in the Victory Parade, and against which any missile defense is powerless. In addition, the attendees spoke about the re-equipment of Aerospace Forces and Navy. Dmitry Petrov reporting.

The oldest fleet of Russia celebrates its birthday, already the 314th. The Baltic Fleet was founded by Peter I during the Northern War in 1703, and now it's an operational and strategic association of the Russian Navy, a stronghold of our water frontiers in the west. Combat service does not stop even during a holiday. And during this time, crews carry watch in the seas, including the crew of the newest corvette, Boikiy.

The invisible corvette, as the seamen describe it, is equipped with guided missiles. It was the Boikiy crew, which was recognized this year as the best in the Baltic Fleet. The ship is designed to perform practically any task, from carrying out strikes, to performing various patrol functions. The Baltic Fleet is a balanced combination of forces and assets, including surface and underwater vessels, aviation, and air defense troops, coastal troops, as well as logistical units.

The Commander-in-Chief congratulates the Baltic residents with the holiday from his Sochi residence. Today is a holiday for the Baltic Fleet, yes, and I want to congratulate the sailors, and the commander, and those sailors of the Baltic Fleet with today's holiday. Just during the last year, the whole Naval fleet grew by 24 new ships and auxiliary vessels, but the most important, notes the President, is the armament. Kalibr long range cruise missiles, have proven their effectiveness. And by year's end, the share of new weapons system in the Navy, should reach 55%. Aerospace Forces are being renewed even more rapidly. 139 new combat vehicles were delivered from the factories, including the latest fighters Su-35S, and modernized strategic missile carriers.

Four anti-aircraft missile regiments received new S-400 Triumph systems, and 25 Pantsirs. For the arming of the Aerospace Forces, we continue to receive new aircraft and helicopters, anti-aircraft and anti-missile weapons, military space technology. The share of modern weapons in the Aerospace Forces has now reached 66%. And by the end of this year it should increase slightly, and amount to 68%. The share of new military equipment and new weapons is a key parameter. It was especially for modernization that the state armaments program was developed until 2020. So that the Army and the Navy could repel any threat. But not only intermediate results are produced, long-term work is being done too. The President, together with the military is already discussing parameters of the new modernization program.

The Strategic Missile Forces are systematically moving to mobile and silo-based Yars systems. Such modern systems in the RVSN arsenal already make up 62%, and by the end of 2017 their share will increase to 72%. Overall, during the present period of the program, it is important to keep the achieved momentum of rearmament, and of course, ensure the continuity of activities for the current program of the state armament program. The new state program of armaments, about which the president speaks, is only being developed. But its main parameters are already known.

Right now the Ministry of Defence is coordinating the details with the interested departments, and business leaders of the military-industrial complex, including, at such meetings. And already in July, the next period of the state armaments program for 2018-2025, should be approved.
